I thought I’d update this for anyone who is interested, but I am finishing with concepts around consciousness and dark settings for the foreseeable future. Void Around Sunlight, Sola Anima Solis, Sinless and now The Consciousness Society have all been a certain brand of dark philosophical tales. However, I feel this period of my life and my interest in these kinds of questions is not worth writing about anymore. I may one day return to this genre, but for now I plan on my next fictional works to be more like The Glass Moon, or maybe something different entirely. The Consciousness Society was my take on grief, as I had lost a lot during the writing of it, including my beloved grandfather. I would not want to force anything that I did not write with passion, and after Void I did not think I had anything left in the thinktank for this genre. The Consciousness Society felt like a swan song of sorts, and I hope in time people come to enjoy it or take something they find interesting like Void Around Sunlight managed to do. Alas, I have waffled on long enough, I have no idea how many people actually read this, sometimes I get a lot of views, other times not so many but they seem to receive likes. As an indie author I know my reach is limited now, maybe in the future it won’t be and people may find this blog post interesting ? Who knows, that is up to the book Gods to decide!
