Rainbow Body

If they ask you, ‘Where are you from?’ tell them, ‘We are from the light, from the place where the light arose by itself and established its own in its image.‘ – Gospel of Thomas

There lies the concept of the ‘Rainbow Body’ in Vajrayana traditions of Tibetan Buddhism, when one researches such a pure internal singularity that their entire body shrinks and they disburse into light. Bön religion, an animistic Buddhist religion within Tibet is where this practice originated, and very few have reached a state of pure enlightenment that their body has become light at death. In the 8th century, great master Padmasambhava reached this state, he was the closest to Buddha that any individual has ever been. I wonder if Jesus did the same, maybe the Bible has hidden much of the truer teachings around Christ? Something more akin to the ‘ Hidden Gnostic Texts’. Space, air, fire, water, and earth are the five elements of the human body that become the equivalent coloured rays of light that transcend the individual during their singularity. They become their own absolute, their mind is the God of their body, and consciousness is no longer constrained. Thukdam, something science has investigated, shows the slowing of deterioration during a deceased state of meditation. Their body does not resume the usual speed and normative process of biology until their meditation is complete, despite them being, by all medical signs, dead. A small amount of warmth can be measured from the meditators heart, however, no neurological functions can be detected. This does not strike me as strange, as I am a believer in dualism (the idea that consciousness and the material matter of the brain are separate). In this case, measuring for neurological noise would be useless, as their consciousness would have no need for a biological filter. Metaphorically speaking, the radio-waves make no sound through a dead radio. Perennial phenomenology strikes with its universal truths, and maybe Jesus did not resurrect his corpse, but instead left in a flash of light? Maybe, in terms of Martyric consciousness, these individuals are un-collapsing, returning themselves into unpalatable matter. However, I feel that is a rabbit hole for another day!
